1. Experience
Kyle’s experience working at J.W. Sexton High School (2016-2018) was and still is the most formative experience of his life. While working at Sexton, Kyle learned exactly what it means to be a teacher in the Lansing School District and saw firsthand what students and families face every day.
If elected, Kyle would bring a 21st century classroom perspective to the board and be a voice for teachers, students, staff, and all Lansing School District families.

2. Vision
When Kyle envisions the future of the Lansing School District, Kyle dreams big.
Imagine a Lansing School District that prepares students for life in an ever changing world, a Lansing School District powered by green energy where students have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the machines that will propel us into the next stage of our human development. Imagine a Lansing School District where our discipline is restorative and transformative, an opportunity to grow into something better than we were before, a Lansing School District where teachers have the autonomy to teach and all students feel safe and welcome to learn.
If elected, Kyle would work to move the Lansing School District toward this vision whenever and wherever possible.

3. Love, Dignity, & Respect
Kyle started volunteering in middle school, cleaning cages and feeding birds of prey at Wildside Wildlife Rehabilitation. Kyle understands that everyone comes from somewhere, everyone has a story to tell, and everyone is worthy of a certain level of kindness, care, and respect.
Working as a teacher, Kyle broke up fights on the playground, in the hallway, and in the street. Kyle knows people fight for all sorts of reasons but it always seems to boil down to the same thing; unmet needs.
If elected, Kyle would fight for resources and policies that work to meet the needs of our community because Kyle understands firsthand the weight and impact of the work the Lansing School District does everyday.
